Please for the love! STOP with the 3D!!!
There is a problem with world today. No, it's not the massively tragic natural disasters that's struck the planet. Yes those are horrible and my prayers go out to those inflicted by said disasters. What I'm talking about is 3 out of five movies are coming out with 3D versions. Look I'll admit its a catchy gimmick but the gimmick has worn out its welcome. It's interesting to see once in a while; but not ever other movie thats released.
The re-release of "Nightmare Before Christmas," in the 3D was interesting but left me I walked out of the theater with a headache a wish to see it on the big screen in it's 2D glory. Then I saw Superman Returns in IMAX and in 3D. Which was the worst experience I've had at a movie. This is a perfect example of what not to do in 3D for a movie. It would be one thing to see the entire movie in 3D, but "Superman Returns" had only segments in 3D. Yes segments; you'd be sitting enjoying Superman fly around in IMAX then all the sudden big green glasses pop up and start flashing; meaning "Put on your 3D glasses now!" I'm sorry but nothing takes you out of a movie more than being told to put on and take off uncomfortable, ugly, bulky ass glasses. Look if you're going to make me wear glasses to experience a movie in 3D, can you make them not pinch my nose.
But the worse is yet to come. "Avatar" has changed everything. I went and saw it in 3D and I'll admit it was very well executed. Built to make the entire environment stand out, and it did bring me more into the movie. There was no scenes that played off the "Wow, look at this object coming out at you, this is 3D, try and reach for it. " No, it was nothing like that. This is how all 3D movies should be done. If the occasional huge, amazing movie was like this then I'd have no problem going to see the 3D version. But I fear with the success of "Avatar," hollywood producers see this as nothing but more dollar signs for them.
I went and saw "Alice in Wonderland" this past weekend in 2D. The entre movie had objects being thrown at the screen, the typical 3D gimmicks, Johnny Depp throws his hat, throwing fabric he's using to make hats at the Heart Knights, just the unoriginal things to make you go "WOW that was 3D!" There's nothing worse than watching a movie in 2D and seeing all the things you know they did that just for the 3D version. Honestly it wasn't that great of a movie, it was entertaining don't get me wrong, but I won't be seeing this again till it comes on DVD.
Please hollywood the 3D element is neat if at best. But I hate going to a movie and putting glasses over my glasses. If I don't then the movie is blurry and I'll have an even bigger headache. Please actually put the time and effort into it and execute it like "Avatar" did. Otherwise I'll redbox the movie, and then decide if I want to burn a copy of it or not.

So it's been 9 months...
Haha, It's been a while since I last paid a visit to my blog. 9 months to be more specific. I'll be honest I just lost interest to blog for a while; it wasn't till recently that I decided that I need to be on this more often. I miss writing my thoughts and such down and sharing new music with the world. Sorry if you've felt deprived, I'm not all that exciting to be frank.
So to fill you in on whats been going on for the past 9 months, here it is. As I'm sure you're all aware I was laid off from the radio station back last October of 2008, I was unemployed for six months, which coincidentally is exactly how long my unemployment was good for...hmmm, Best paid six month vacation I've ever had, Thanks Citadel! Well as my unemployment ran out I called up one of my best friends who manages the Starbuck's Coffee in Sugar House, and got my old job back as a shift supervisor for Starbuck's. Which funny enough after my tips I make more pouring coffee than I did ever working at Citadel. Haha, just more proof how shizzy of a company Citadel is(apart from the fact that they filed chapter 11 a month ago, and yes I laughed very hard when I got that news, karma is a cruel cold hearted bitch!).
So I've been at Starbuck's since. I like my job and most of the people I work with. But it is just a stepping stone, I'm going back to school in the fall, probably continue my major for English. But I'm gonna throw in some web design, and graphic design classes to mix it up.
Still single, dated a few girls, had some interest in a few girls, but as you can guess didn't work out. One girl to be more specific was a very long drawn out dramatic story that ended badly. Her name was Bethany, I worked with her at Starbuck's. She broke up with her boyfriend after she finally realized that he didn't want kids. The we started hanging out and things seemed to click really well. I hadn't felt that way about anybody since Brooke. Well I don't want to make this a long story, but she got back together with her boyfriend but told me she can't decide what to do, if she wants me or him, tells me that she loves us both. She basically she strings me along for three months telling me this garbage that she loves me and him and can't decide who to be with. Telling me theres a good amount of hope for "us." Then she transfers to the Ogden store and I find out from my co-workers that her old boyfriend proposed and she said yes. She hadn't told me this. Needless to say I confronted her about this and she couldn't give me a straight answer to why she did what she did. I told her where to go, how to get there and to basically F off. Words cant express how much anger and hate I feel towards her. Oh well Life moves on.
What else has been going on. Um, I'll be honest my faith as of late has been lacking and I have been questioning what do I believe. And I don't know if I truly believe in the mormon religion. I began going to a non-denominational christian church called The Rock. I have a lot of friends and co-workers who go there, and was invited to join them. I've been several times and have meet so many new friends. I don't feel judged when I go to The Rock, but I do when I go to my home ward. I haven't joined The Rock, I haven't written off Mormonism. I'm in a place where I just don't know where I belong. I love Christ and God, I know they love me, and the path to salvation is through them. I don't doubt that at all. I'm just trying to figure out who I am and where I belong, I know where others want me to be, but with something as personal as religion and beliefs are, this is a decision I have to make for myself.
I decided that I want to get a sleeve done on my right arm. I have the first piece picked out and scheduled to be done on the 27th of this month. I'll be sure to post pictures of it when I get it done. And yes the first piece is visible and I'm going to have to cover it up at work... But I'm excited as hell to get it done.
A couple of other things I'm working on and am excited about is, myself and one of my best friends Ben are working on putting together a podcast and a website we're hoping to make a little extra money with it hopefully... We hope it'll take off but honestly we're doing just for fun more than anything else. As nerdy as it is its going to be about video games, mostly Xbox. We're well aware how nerdy we are and we're totally fine with that.
Well thats it really, I'm going to try my hardest to blog more often, but I'm not going to make any promises since we know how good at I was the past 9 months.

EAR'phoria #2
As mentioned in the last post I had a few bands that I was mulling over to decide who to write about, and I couldn’t narrow it down to just one. Because I know for a fact that if I game them separate posts I would fall so far behind and next thing I know all I would write is EAR'phoria. So this time around I’m going to share all three songs, yes, count them, one, two, three songs! So let us get started!
Song number one comes to us from a very large, hippy, gown wearing band from Dallas Texas by the name of “The Polyphonic Spree.” The song is a few years old and I first heard it a while back when I watched “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” But re-living it made me re-discover just how great of a song it is. The song is “Light & Day / Reach for the Sun.” It’s a very uplifting cheery song, and it honestly makes me vision this is what a catholic choir (I think mostly because of the gowns they wear) would sound like on drugs. Go watch a music video of theirs on YouTube, if you’re having a bad day, seriously you’ll cheer right up!

Song Number two is a little more mainstream than I like EAR'phoria to be about, but given some recent events and how much I love this song, here it is, number two comes off of “All-
American Rejects” latest album “When the World Comes Down.” Song is the title track off the album called “Mona Lisa (When the World Comes Down).” It’s a very sweet song basically about the shape this world has gotten and how it’s a scary place out there, but as long as you have someone to watch the world come down with all of it doesn’t matter, and the world doesn’t seem all that scary. I’ve been listening a lot to this song as of lately, more so in the past week, and it’s been a comfort for me about what’s to come. It’s amazing what can happen overnight.
And Finally and most certainly not last is number three, from the Seattle indie-pop/lo-fi rock scene is “Say Hi” and their newest album ”Oohs & Aahs.” I first heard about this band while checking out other bands on “Death Cab for Cutie’s older record label Barsuk Records. I liked what I heard, but unfortunately I let this band drift off into the distance as I discovered “The Decemberists” and “The Shins” and “Arcade Fire.” But when I heard that “Say Hi” had a new album out I couldn't but help myself to see what has become of this band; I loved what I heard and it’s quickly climbing the play count on my iPod! I’ll be the first to admit this type of music is at times an acquired taste, but if you like “The Shins,” and “Death Cab” then I recommend you download at least the track “Hallie and Henry” or “Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh.” You won't regret it!
And like my last post you can listen to these songs on YouTube, just search the band name and the song title, and all of them are on iTunes. That’s it for this post I promise I’ll keep it to one song next time.

I know I suck!
Hey all! I know it's been a while since I've gotten on this site and updated you all on what's been up in the crazy awesome life that is JASON SCHOFIELD (miniSCHOF). Oh and a little side note here, I'm going to try to work and capitalize this whole miniSCHOF thing, I'm working on it and with your help I think we can make this huge! Like Apple logo huge! So... "Go team, go!" Anyways, I'm rambling like a fool here! Um, it's 6:45 in the A.M. and I haven't slept yet, cause I going to my brothers house in a hour to help the jerk move to Idaho. God bless the economy! So I figured whats the point of going to bed! So yeah, Laura at Starbucks will be getting a visit from me in a little under an hour here. But um yeah, few updates. I've decided I'm going to start doing a little web comic here soon, I have a few idea's that I've been perfecting and am going to start drawing them out, and soon posting them right here, exclusively on my blog! So look for that. Also I've been have been mulling over a few new songs that I've discovered and am having a hard time deciding who deserves to me my new EARphoria post. So once I complete that battle expect to see that post here very, very soon! As in the next day or so! And umm, yeah, can't really think what else to inform you all with. So thats it I'll end this here! Peace out!

Say what???
I know the reason why websites are making you do the word verification thing when you post comments, or send e-mails over blogger, Facebook, Myspace and so on. To prevent preprogrammed computers going out there and spamming the crap out of your page with advertisements, and other annoying messages. But from a person who comments and sends alot of messages it’s annoying as hell having to decipher that word or words... or jumbled mess of letters and numbers, but it's hella annoying when it’s a double world, CAPS sensitive (which they don’t tell you), or has a bunch of static lines going through the word (that oh so conveniently make near impossible to figure out what the letters are). Recently I wrote a comment on my friend’s blog and had to type in one of these words… and well I’ll let see for yourself...
I know it's not the correct spelling but still, wheres the first place your mind goes? Yeah. Blogger called me a duche!
